     Title: Can you feel it?

Joy Circle - Makani Cambridge captured by Byran Digital

Crafted by an attendee of the RACE Summit 2025 having been inspired by some of the powerful workshops, nourishing conversations as well as the beautiful spoken word written and performed by Beatrice Anomah, this poem reflects on wider forces at play in our shared home that we bear witness to.

Touch the ground

Heal your soul

Embody what makes us whole

Rooted in histories and memories

Espouse us for why we must shout, rage, and dream

Imagination in times of divide and decay is a great virtue

So why not stand in solidarity with those that may not look or feel like you?

Not doing anything is the hardest way out as is thinking that

Oppression disappears with your eyes sealed shut

Joyful gatherings within spaces of the very systems that must be transformed

Unlearning alongside radical rest

Sends a clear message

To those forces

Intent on infesting our shared home with

Crisis upon crisis as we bear witness to

Each and every form of ecocide

Under all the distractions

Never-ending noise

There are movements above and below, micro and macro, human and more-than-human

Inviting us to resist the urge to stay silent

Look, can you feel it?

We are the change we are seeking, now let

Authentic, active and deep

Listening

Leave

Seeds of an immortal movement so that

Every energising and

Exhilarating dance

Nourishes the hunger for liberation
